For the last four days, I’ve been sick, no not the rona, a normal bug got me. Last night was also the windiest I have witnessed in Iowa… in the middle of December, plus, it was 70 degrees. I’ve been asleep for at least 48 of the last 72 hours but last night I had the most active dreams. I should say dream because every time I fell off into slumberland, I had one dream. The giant tree just outside my window blew over into our house, and every time I’d wake up to find all was fine.
What does it mean? I know I was pretty sick, the thought of the tree coming down has always been in the back of my mind, constantly hearing the wind racing through the trees, branches, and whatever leaves are left couldn’t help at all, but it was the same dream, over and over. All of those things could have contributed to the dream but the same dream?? Nobody was injured, I didn’t see it at different angles, it was just the tree coming into our bedroom and I was awake.
I’ve had some fucked up dreams, the things I like usually revolve around heavy metal or horror movies. My favorite band is the almighty GWAR, and most of my movie selections include; “I Spit on Your Grave”, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Paranormal Activity collections, so my dreams are all over the place. This one has got me thinking, it was so vivid, so real that my mind keeps repeating it. To the point where it feels like it happened for real. It’s funny how the brain works.
