Ever wonder about the stories behind the flowers on the side of the road? Or next a garage in an alley? I know I do, and these stories have other stories, some are the same and some are the same but different. I found myself sitting next to some flowers on a bench overlooking the Mississippi River. They were placed there with care on a particular side, undisturbed by weather or humanity nor wilted by time. I enjoy seeing this, I never excepted to see these here nor will I probably see flowers here ever again… but it made me think.
The flowers on the side of the road represent a death due to a tragedy. Humans, for whatever reason, tend to hold on to pain, coming back to the spot where your loved one was at their most terrifying last moments is strange to me. Now, these flowers make me think of a first kiss many decade’s ago or a spot overlooking the Mighty Mississippi where a young lady was asked to be a young man’s wife. I hate to think of the times that hurt my soul, I won’t be putting anything near the place where my loved ones passed to the next existence, the next level of their journey. I would rather put that energy in a warm loving spot, there’s enough hurt and pain. Love is what the world needs more of.
